The Duandra is equipped with:
Main engines: 2 Volvo engines of 750 hp each
Electric motor: 475 hp, installed behind the coupling
Generators: 2 Volvo generators of 680 hp each in the fore ship
Thanks to this configuration, the vessel can operate in three different navigation modes, tailored to cargo, current, and tide:
Diesel direct: traditional diesel power for maximum performance
Diesel electric: combination of diesel and electric propulsion for optimal efficiency
Electric: fully emission-free sailing for short routes or sensitive areas
Clean technology
The vessel is equipped with a catalytic converter with AdBlue injection and a POC soot filter, significantly reducing emissions. In addition, the residual heat from the engines is efficiently used to heat the accommodation and wheelhouse, contributing to energy savings and onboard comfort.
